Wrapped: ChatGPT Plugin Demo

ICYMI - OpenAI Co-founder's TED Talk

Hello Weekend Robot Masters,

Introducing a new issue of YPNaR: Wrapped. It is the top takeaway from the week in AI. The Wrapped issue will be in addition to our weekly letter.

AI is moving at light speed. It’s overwhelming to keep up. We are here to help.

Our goal with Wrapped: If you learn one thing about AI this week, learn this.

Sit back with some coffee and let’s get into it!

The Astonishing potential of ChatGPT Plugins

Greg Brockman’s TED Talk starts off with a bang. In the first 4 minutes, he demonstrates chatGPT Plugins.

Here’s the play-by-play:

  1. Asks chatGPT to suggest for a post-TED talk meal

  2. chatGPT creates a recipe and DALL-E creates an image

  3. Makes a shopping list of ingredients to make the meal

  4. Connects to Instacart to automatically order the ingredients.

Suggest a recipe, generate an image and order ingredients

You only have to watch the first 4 minutes to be mind-blown.

Why it matters:

This is the future. It dramatically reduces the time and energy from creativity to action and comes with complete personalized customization.

Imagine asking ChatGPT for a recipe. You could tell it to make it keto, vegan, paleo, under a certain calorie count, gluten-free. Source the ingredients from where you want – fair trade, local, whatever floats your boat – and tell ChatGPT to give you other meal ideas on the leftover ingredients.

Many tools have called themselves a “single source of truth,” yet this demo might be the most promising example yet. This is the beginning of the end of toggling between apps or copy and pasting.

That’s a wrap, see you next week!

You probably need a robot.

We do too,

Lexi, Greg, and Jordan
